Local Government Improvement

PURPOSE:
With the aim of energizing civic dialogue and encouraging the widest possible public opinion-gathering, The Pittsburgh Foundation, together with partners in the community, has developed Allegheny Forum, a multifaceted education and opinion gathering campaign.

With the support and encouragement of regional officials, the Foundation is leading an initiative to bring before the public “issues that are just too important to ignore,” in the interests of exploring ways to improve cooperation and operational efficiency in local government across Allegheny County.

IMPACT:
Against the background of fiscal challenges of local government and the overall economic health of our community, the Foundation is hopeful that the campaign will encourage participants to consider bold and different ways of managing government.

Allegheny Forum is an initiative designed to seek the viewpoints of citizens in Allegheny County about the future of local government in what is considered to be the biggest-ever opinion-gathering exercise around this complex subject.

HOW TO HELP:
Please visit Allegheny Forum and join the discussion with your ideas to improve local government.
