Scholarship name: Mattie B. Addis Scholarship Fund
James W. Addis and James Benjamin "Benjie" Addis created this fund in memory of Mattie B. Addis, wife and mother, an outstanding, dedicated, selfless social worker and social work educator, to provide opportunity for students to enter the field of social work through the undergraduate social work program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work.
Eligibility:
- Pursue a degree or studies in: Social Work
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Institution at which to use scholarship: University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work
- Applicant must be a full time student.
- Complete an application.
- Be entering their Junior or Senior year.
- Maintain a GPA of: 2.00
- Write and submit an essay: One page essay about their academic performance in which they explain why they feel they should be selected for the scholarship.
How to apply:
- Provide a college transcript.
- Provide a copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR).
