Trust Portfolios

Reflecting the history of its formation, The Pittsburgh Foundation is the beneficiary of two major trust portfolios at BNY Mellon and PNC Bank.  They represent the combined assets of the component trusts established at these banks (and their predecessors: Mellon Bank, Union National Bank and Integra Bank) for the benefit of The Pittsburgh Foundation and ultimately the greater Pittsburgh community. 

Local Investment Advisors

The Pittsburgh Foundation will work with its donors’ investment advisors after undergoing initial and ongoing due diligence.  Approved investment advisors maintain the investment of assets on their platform The following local investment advisors are currently approved:

• Hefren Tillotson
• The DHS Group/Merrill Lynch
• Parker-Hunter/Jamey Montgomery Scott
• D.B. Root and Co.
• UBS
• Fort Pitt Capital
• Private Wealth Advisors

National Investment Manager Relationships

In addition to the Foundation’s relationship with local advisors, The Pittsburgh Foundation has established programs with the following national investment managers:

• American Funds/Capital Group – Accessed through several investment pools that provide differing return and risk expectations, local investment advisors that utilize the American Funds can maintain a relationship with their clients to which they recommend the Foundation. 
• Merrill Lynch Community Charitable Fund Program – The Pittsburgh Foundation in partnership with several other community foundations throughout the country has established the Merrill Lynch Community Charitable Fund Program to allow Merrill Lynch advisors and their donors to work with the Foundation in establishing charitable funds.
