Retirement Fund Assets

You can designate The Pittsburgh Foundation to receive all or a portion of your qualified retirement assets by naming the Foundation in a beneficiary designation form.  Since retirement assets are subject to both inheritance tax and income tax, it is often the best asset to leave to a charitable organization.  An individual you select to receive your retirement assets may receive as little as 30 percent after taxes.  The Foundation, however, would receive 100 percent.
