Hetty E. Knox Fund

Hetty Knox was a native of Greensburg. She died on January 19, 2009 at the age of 77.

She attended the Westover School in Vermont and went on to Briarcliff College. She married her husband James in 1952 and they had four children. She was an active member of Calvary Episcopal Church in Shadyside.

Hetty's grandfather on her mother's side was a founder of The Jamison Coal Company in Westmoreland County. Through her family inheritance, she was able to establish several charitable funds with The Pittsburgh Foundation.

This fund at times supports the Allegheny Valley School, Council of Three Rivers American Indian Center Headstart Program and Allegheny County Juvenile Court Probation Program.
