The Pittsburgh Foundation

Gail N. Platt Arts Fund

Established: 9/8/2003

This fund was established by Jean Platt in memory of her husband Gail who loved the arts.

A graduate of mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Gail was passionate about a wide range of art--music, theater, literature, painting, sculpture and graphics. He was an award-winning gardener and gourmet cook who wanted everyone to share in the joy of his pursuits.

The fund supports students who have an active interest in their community as well as the arts, particularly those in need of financial help to begin their education at the college level. The fund is also closely associated with The Manchester's Craftsman's Guild.
