Keith West’s commitment and support have brought many donors to The Pittsburgh Foundation and helped to improve the quality of life in the Pittsburgh region.
A partner at Thorp Reed and Armstrong, LLP, Keith can’t remember how he first heard of the Foundation, but the partnership between the two spans nearly three decades.
Early in his career as an estate and trust lawyer, Keith began recommending that clients interested in including philanthropy in their estate plan consider The Pittsburgh Foundation.
“I feel comfortable recommending The Pittsburgh Foundation to my clients because they are both knowledgeable and personable,” said Keith. “The Foundation has a proven expertise in managing funds and evaluating the needs of individuals and their staff is friendly and helpful.”
Keith explained that clients with varied interests are attracted to the Foundation because of the vast array of giving options it offers. One universally appealing aspect was the ability to have family involvement in giving while still receiving guidance from Foundation staff.
It is for similar reasons that Keith has remained in the estate planning field for over 30 years. “As an estate and trust lawyer, you get involved in and learn about different types of law.”
Keith is a graduate of Cornell Law School. He is a past chairperson of the Endowment Committee of Westminster Presbyterian Church and is currently counsel to the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society. In 2004, 2005 and 2006, Keith was named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer, an honor bestowed upon the top five percent of Pennsylvania lawyers.
