Pittsburgh Women in Communications Scholarship Fund

To provide assistance to outstanding students studying various fields of communications.

Eligibility

  • Pursue a degree or studies in: Communications
  • Have a residence in: Allegheny County, Armstrong County, Beaver County, Butler County, Fayette County, Indiana County, Lawrence County, Mercer County, Washington County, Westmoreland County
  • Institution at which to use scholarship: Pennsylvania
  • Be studying a communications field, including but not limited to advertising, journalism, marketing, public relations, graphic design, television, radio, film, photography or multimedia.
  • Be a junior or senior at a four-year college or university, a sophomore at a school offering a degree in a communications-related field, or a post-graduate student, as of the fall the scholarship is awarded. Applicants may be full- or part-time students.
  • Provide a resume in the format as it would be presented to an employer (including internships, awards, publications, community activities and memberships in social or academic associations).
  • Provide two letters of recommendation from academic or professional references attesting to the applicant's communications experience.
  • Provide one sample of work that shows applicant's ability in chosen field.
  • Maintain a GPA of: 3.00
  • Write and submit an essay: Write a brief essay explaining what attributes you possess that make you the best qualified candidate to receive this scholarship and, if you could envision your ideal job in 10 years, what you would be doing.
