Beth Murdock joined The Pittsburgh Foundation in October 2023 as community research and learning officer. In this role she works to inform and support the design and implementation of the Foundation’s organizational learning strategy. She supports the development of strategies and structures to monitor, measure and illustrate the Foundation’s adherence to and progress toward meeting the goals of its strategic plan. She is passionate about data analysis and visualization. 

Before joining the Foundation, Beth worked in local government for the City of Alexandria, VA , Office of Performance Analytics, where she led priority evaluation and data analysis work. Later she joined the Allegheny County Department of Human Services Office of Analytics, Technology and Planning, working on program and budget planning for children, youth and families. She is a proud AmeriCorps alum, where she served as a mentor and educator for youth in Miami as a City Year Corps member. Beth earned her Masters of public policy and management from Carnegie Mellon University and her undergraduate degree in policy analysis and management from Cornell University, where she also played lacrosse.

In her free time Beth enjoys hiking, listening to podcasts and watching/playing sports with her family.
