Yvonne Maher Executive Vice President


As executive vice president, Yvonne oversees the Foundation’s fundraising activities, donor stewardship, special events and volunteer activities, together with the engagement and outreach with professional advisors, existing and prospective donors. She leads strategic planning and represents the Foundation to outside partners and affinity groups. A native of Ireland, she joined the Foundation in 2006 and has led the organization through significant periods of growth. She led the development and launch of Pittsburgh Gives, the Foundation’s new online research and giving resource. She implemented a strategy to grow assets of the Foundation through a Private Foundation conversion initiative and the Third-Party Investment Manager Initiative. Yvonne also launched the Center for Philanthropy and served as a Project Leader for the merger of the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County with The Pittsburgh Foundation. Under her leadership as senior vice president of Development and Donor Services, the Foundation reached historic levels of giving.

Yvonne is currently a director on the Duquesne Club Charitable Foundation. She also serves on the boards of Mercyhurst University and Grantmakers of Western Pennsylvania, and is a past Board member of the Berkshire Leadership Program and the Berkshire Children’s Museum, both in Massachusetts, the United Way Allocations Committee in Beaver County, Pennsylvania and the Environmental Charter School at Frick Park in Pittsburgh.
