Danitra Mason came to The Pittsburgh Foundation in 2017. Serving as Assistant Controller, Danitra is responsible for supporting the management of the accounting and finance activities for the Foundation and its supporting organizations. The Pittsburgh native’s background allows her to bring best practices from previous experiences to the Foundation, a setting directly benefitting the greater Pittsburgh community.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Danitra spent nine years working in the audit practice of KPMG LLP, working with mid- to large-sized companies in industries including manufacturing, power and utilities and finance. During that time, she was promoted to the role of senior audit manager. Separately, she served as a local and national instructor for firm-sponsored trainings on auditing standards and technical accounting matters.
Danitra graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and is a licensed certified public accountant in the State of Pennsylvania. She serves on the board of the local chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc., is a member of the AICPA, and was recently on the advisory board of the Be a Middle School Mentor program through the United Way of Allegheny County.
When not working, Danitra plans adventures with her husband and entertains her highly persistent and inquisitive toddler.
