Policy and Community Impact
The Pittsburgh Foundation advocates for meaningful policy and legislation changes on behalf of our community through bipartisan partnerships.
To develop and advance our advocacy priorities, the team partners with regional stakeholders and leaders, informs and engages elected officials, builds coalitions and accelerates the work of nonprofit advocates.
The Foundation fills a number of advocacy roles, including playing the role of leader, partner, supporter or observer. These roles vary by issue, with engagement determined by community need, mission alignment and strategy development.
Our Approaches to Advocacy:
Responding to community needs is at the heart of our mission. By advocating for policies that align with our values, ensuring funding for basic needs, and supporting initiatives that drive meaningful change, we strive to uplift underserved communities. Our commitment to strengthening charitable giving empowers us to meet the evolving needs of the community.
