Emily joined the Foundation in May 2025, coming from the nonprofit, academic and corporate worlds. Most recently she held roles of increasing responsibility at La Gourmandine French Bakery in Pittsburgh, where she eventually became the front-of-house manager at four locations and was head of Administration and Human Resources. Before that, she held various roles at the Pittsburgh Girls Choir and continues to direct its Women of Song program. For several years, Emily was an adjunct professor of Music at Rowan University, and received a master's degree in Vocal Pedagogy at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey.
Emily maintains an active professional singing career, highlights include singing with the Philadelphia Symphonic Orchestra Chorus under the baton of Yannick Nézet-Séguin, participating as a resident chorister at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2019 and 2022, and being a singing extra for the Leonard Bernstein biopic, Maestro. She is also on the roster of the Pittsburgh Opera Chorus.
When not at the Foundation, singing or directing Women of Song, Emily lives in Regent Square with her husband, Nick, and loves to read, pet her cats and attempt to hike long distances in Frick Park or on the Rachel Carson trail.
