Ruth Meighen (1909-1986) established this fund in memory of her father, John C. Meighen (1880-1969). Ruth, a 1931 graduate of Seton Hill University and member of the Young Women’s Club of Duquesne, left her estate to The Pittsburgh Foundation in order to create a scholarship for Duquesne-area high school students. Today the fund gives scholarships to four graduating seniors with the highest GPAs at both West Mifflin High School and East Allegheny High School.
