The Courthouse Square Heritage Conservancy Fund supplements public and private dollars for improvements around the Westmoreland County Courthouse Square area. The fund was established with The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County on Aug. 3, 2000, by the Courthouse Square Heritage Conservancy, a nonprofit organization established for the purpose of preserving the historic Westmoreland County Courthouse and its surrounding area.
The Courthouse was established in 1906 and was listed on the Pennsylvania National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It is one of the tallest structures in Greensburg. The building was designed by Pittsburgh architect William S. Kaufman in a Beaux Arts style.
