Katie Belonus joined The Pittsburgh Foundation in 2021 and is part of the Philanthropic Resources team. Katie provides project management for Center projects including donor giving circles, donor education events and the Foundation’s Critical Needs Alert online giving day. Additionally, she assists departments across the Foundation to create, coordinate and manage external-facing projects. Katie also works with donors to positively impact their communities through giving. Prior to this role she served as the Center’s special project intern from February to June 2020. In between her internship and current role, Katie worked as an engagement coordinator for the Development team at Auberle, a human service nonprofit serving Allegheny County.
Katie earned her master’s of public administration from the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, where she focused on public and nonprofit management. While there, she received the Faculty Award, which is given to the top master’s of public administration student based on academics and service to the school. Katie received bachelor’s degrees in English and political science with honors in English from Penn State University.
In her spare time, Katie enjoys gardening, baking and all things crafting. She also likes to take long hikes with friends to recalibrate on weekends.
