Mission
Established by his family in April 2021, the Chad Kosanovic Memorial Fund’s mission is to help fund opportunities and experiences that result in positive impacts on someone’s life.
Grants from the fund reflect Chad's passion and interests. His family and friends feel blessed to have his remarkable spirit among them forever. This is reflected through their grant-making philosophy, based on these core beliefs:
- We believe in friendship, because friends who feel like family are the best kind of friends, and nothing matters more than family.
- We believe everyone deserves a seat at the table and everyone has a story to tell.
- We believe it is our responsibility for Chad’s legacy to continue doing good work that matters.
- We believe that each day is a gift and every day miracles are scattered about if only we have eyes to see them, and of all our good deeds, we believe there may be none greater than a life well-lived.
About Chad
"Only the good die young" and for Chad that happened after just 37 years of living. Chad was a "Lebo Kid.” His childhood and adulthood were spent growing up in Mt. Lebanon, a family and community friendly, walkable neighborhood that was familiar and comfortable to Chad. That was the foundation that made him the man that he was in his work, as well as the things he enjoyed and found rewarding.
A graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School and Allegheny College in Meadville, Chad's life centered around his passion for golf. He played on the high school golf team and captained the college golf team with expertise and a love of the history of the game.
The game of golf played a big part in the molding of his character, his integrity, his sense of humor, his good heart and the helping hand he so often extended to others. This lead him to his career that would include both people and golf – as a real estate broker for CBRE, Inc. He was fortunate to partner with his steadfast and best friend, Jason Cannon, and the two of them – the Home Team – worked side-by-side for years. Their strong work ethic and forming of new friendships along the way brought amazing success for them both.
Chad volunteered for organizations such as the Salvation Army, First Tee and the Special Olympics. He had an unwavering kindness to all with whom he came in contact.
