Nepal Relief Efforts
Our thoughts are with the people of Nepal, India and Bangladesh after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck the region. More than 5,000 people are confirmed dead from Saturday's earthquake just outside Kathmandu, Nepal. Nearly 11,000 more were injured, according to Nepal's National Emergency Operation Center. You can support the relief organizations that are responding to the disaster.

Neil Alexander: celebrating a courageous life
For the past several years, Neil and Suzanne Alexander, along with their children, Abby and Patrick, have been among the brightest lights in The Pittsburgh Foundation’s constellation of donors. While we at the Foundation are saddened at the announcement of Neil’s death on March 24, 2015 at age 49 from complications connected to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or ALS, we celebrate his incredible accomplishment as an authentic community philanthropist in the creation of the highly renowned LiveLikeLou Fund here.

PITTSBURGH, Pa., Jan. 12, 2015 -- The Pittsburgh Foundation announces that it is accepting grant applications for The Dietrich Foundation Greenville, Pa. Fund. Grants must be submitted by February 6, 2015. Selection of grantees will be made by a committee by March 15, 2015 and the announcement of the grant winners will be made in April 2015.
