Sara Jane, a resident of Shadyside, was known to have many friends and was an active member of the Pittsburgh community during her lifetime. She died on Feb. 24, 2003 at the age of 83.
A graduate of the Winchester Thurston School, she attended Hood College before going on to graduate from Carlow College. Upon graduation she worked for The Pittsburgh National Bank for many years until her retirement.
She was a member and on the Board of Directors of the College Club of Pittsburgh for nearly 50 years, serving in various capacities, most recently as the First Vice President.
The fund continues today to support the charitable purposes of The Pittsburgh Foundation.
