Young Austin Kelly was born with a rare congenital heart defect called Ebstein's Anomaly, also known as Ebstein's malformation, a heart defect in which the tricuspid valve is abnormally formed. His case was very severe. He spent most of his brief six-and one-half-month life battling the illness.
Through the support of the fund, the room in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit of Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh UPMC where he spent his short life was dedicated to honoring his memory. The fund continues to support research of infant cardiac defects in the hope of understanding how to treat this fatal condition.
Each year the ADK Memorial Golf Outing is held in support of the fund.
