This scholarship fund was established at The Pittsburgh Foundation in 1999 in memory of Nello Giammarco.

Giammarco taught in the Montour School District for 21 years. He was on the faculty as an eighth grade English teacher at David E. Williams Middle School when he died in 1998.

In his lifetime, Giammarco was a generous person, an exceptional worker, a dedicated teacher, an enthusiastic baseball coach and a good friend to many.

This fund in his name provides an annual scholarship that keeps Giammarco’s legacy alive by continuing his commitment to education and amplifying the positive impact he had on the lives of Montour students for years to come.
