On April 4, 2009, three Pittsburgh police officers were killed in the line of duty in a senseless act of violence. The officers were Paul J. Sciullo II, Stephen Mayhle and Eric Kelly. Out of this tragedy came a tremendous outpouring of love and support for those who put their lives on the line for our safety.

As a tribute to these officers, a statue of St. Michael the Archangel, Patron Saint of Police, was placed outside of St. Joseph Church in Bloomfield, the boyhood home of Paul Sciullo. The statue was surrounded by gardens dedicated to all those in public service. It is a constant reminder of our vigilance against evil; our dedication to preserving the memory of these fallen heroes; and our gratitude for everything they sacrificed for us.

This fund was established in 2012 to protect and preserve this beautiful symbol of a community’s love for Paul, Stephen and Eric. Your donation will ensure that it remains a shining memory of their precious lives. Listen to the podcast titled "That was Paul" which is a collection of stories about the impact he had on the lives of others, turning grief into joy, and what it means to be truly happy in what you do.
