Pittsburgh has a long and rich tradition of art in public places. Renee Piechocki, Director of Pittsburgh’s Office of Public Art, will provide an overview of Pittsburgh’s public art initiatives, show examples of how artists are currently working in the public realm, talk about the behind the scenes processes of how art is commissioned, and discuss best practices for public art. She promises a visually rich presentation, followed by a 30-minute tour of some excellent examples of public art just a few blocks away from The Pittsburgh Foundation’s front door.
