Dr. Eugene Myers, MD and his wife, Barbara, established the Eugene N. and Barbara L. Myers Fund in 1988 to promote Pittsburgh’s arts and education programs.

Dr. Myers, an internationally known ear, nose, and throat doctor, has authored and co-authored several otolaryngology textbooks. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MD from Temple University’s School of Medicine. Dr. Myers has served with the Army Medical Corps in Frankfurt, Germany and held various positions in Boston and New York before joining the University of Pittsburgh’s faculty in 1972, where he became Distinguished Professor and Emeritus Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology. Dr. Myers is involved with several international professional societies and area nonprofits focusing on medicine, arts, and conservation.

Barbara Myers is a professional interior designer whose work has been featured in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. She and Eugene married in 1956 and have two children. Today the Eugene N. and Barbara L. Myers Fund supports the Myers’s passion by enriching Pittsburgh’s arts and opera scene.
