Announcing the return of The Pittsburgh Foundation’s Explore Series: three exclusive, firsthand educational opportunities offered by the Center for Philanthropy. Led by the Foundation’s expert program officers, each event will guide you through a unique sector of Pittsburgh’s nonprofit world, putting you face-to-face with the organizations and leaders working to solve our community’s most urgent problems.
This year's Explore Series will kick off in May at YouthPlaces, where we'll meet four innovative, resourceful organizations that help young adults turn their talents into successful careers. Later, in June, we'll explore four after-school programs that develop youth's creativity and passion for lifelong learning. In July, we'll learn about the factors that drive youth incarceration by listening to those who have been affected, including young adults and their advocates. We'll identify barriers to success and explore ways in which systems could be changed in order to help young people thrive.
The primary goal of the Explore Series is educational, though interested donors will have the opportunity to co-invest with the Foundation to further the work of participating nonprofits. As with all Foundation events, there is no financial or philanthropic obligation — we simply invite you to explore new and powerful ideas.
