Douglas Brady and his wife, Dorothy, lived and worked in New Kensington. Douglas worked for 40 years as a general surgeon and served in the Air Force as a flight surgeon from April 1953 to April 1955 with one tour in Korea. In Douglas’s early years, he enjoyed sailing. He focused on playing the piano, gardening and spending time with Dorothy, who worked as a secretary and loved gardening and reading. She died on April 27, 2014, at age 82. A year later, Douglas died on Feb. 13, 2015, at age 86.
The Dorothy and Douglas Brady Memorial Fund was established through Dr. Douglas Brady’s will, which was written in 2011. The fund designates funds primarily to veteran associations and organizations.
