kulesa.jpgIn spring of 2013 the Kulesa family found out the news that would forever change their lives.  Alana was diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 38.  (Click here to read about Alana’s story on UPMC’s Life Changing Medicine Blog).  As parents, Kevin and Alana knew they could deal with whatever may come, but all their worries were for their two young children.

Now, as a family that has survived breast cancer, the Kulesas are helping other families grappling with the fear and anxiety this health challenge brings by offering an opportunity that gives happiness and a sense of normalcy and hope.  The Kulesa Fund at The Pittsburgh Foundation supports summer camp scholarships for families that are in the same situation they were in a few years ago.  This campership program will enable children free tuition to a week-long camp in the Pittsburgh region.

Summers should be filled with exciting learning experiences, making new friends, and fun, not fear and sadness.  Help support summer camperships for families battling breast cancer through your support of the Kulesa Fund today.
