When Rosalind Chow and Jeff Galak established their charitable fund in 2014, they became The Pittsburgh Foundation’s youngest donor couple.
Chow and Galack met at Carnegie Mellon University where Chow was an assistant professor in Organizational Behavior and Theory, and Galack was interviewing for an assistant professor position in Marketing at the Tepper School of Business.
Both Chow and Galak came from families that emphasized the importance of giving. As they prepared for the birth of their daughter, Lia, the couple set up the Rosalind Chow and Jeff Galak Charitable Fund to maximize their philanthropic impact, but also to create a channel for Lia, and now their son, Simon, to learn and be actively involved in charitable giving.
Through their fund, the couple gives back to communities, both locally and abroad, supporting education and health in rural communities, and serving underserved communities.
