August Wilson House is the artist’s childhood home and is opening as an arts center for the Hill District as a tribute to his legacy and for nurturing artists.

About the 2024 Advancing Black Arts in Pittsburgh grant: This $100,000 grant supports the literary and social legacy of August Wilson through the restoration of his Hill District boyhood home as an arts center.
