This grant to the Pittsburgh Youth Chorus was used for the first-ever youth performance of CROSSINGS, a choral ballet by two Black artists. This was also the first recreation of the entire work since it was commissioned in 1992. CROSSINGS is a coming-of-age story told through dance, vocal music and spoken word of a young Black woman growing up “Uptown” and confronting racism in her community.
