Professional Nurses of Southwestern PA Scholarship Fund was created at The Pittsburgh Foundation by the Professional Nurses of Southwestern PA, formerly District #6 Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, to provide scholarships for nursing students of all levels living within the nine counties of Southwestern PA.
The Professional Nurses of Southwestern PA has been organized to continue one of the purposes of its former group, and that is to be a strong supporter of nursing education. Their commitment to nursing is to offer scholarships at every level to nursing students residing in the nine counties of Southwestern PA. This group and its founders have been leaders in nursing since its founding in 1925. It has evolved today into a group of nurses who want to continue its tradition of passing the “lamp of nursing” to worthy recipients who display the qualities of outstanding service and leadership that have been present in this group from its beginnings.
