Carol R. Brown Creative Achievement Awards

The Pittsburgh Foundation, The Heinz Endowments and the Opportunity Fund invite you to celebrate the visionary work of Pittsburgh artists by attending the virtual 2021 Carol R. Brown Creative Achievement Awards.

Please join us as we announce the award winners in the Established Artist and Emerging Artist categories from among our six finalists:

This year marks the ninth presentation of these awards by the Foundations. The program will be held virtually this year, and it is free and open to the public.

ABOUT CAROL R. BROWN

Carol R. Brown served as president of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust during the transformation of the Cultural District in Downtown Pittsburgh from a red-light district to a nationally recognized model for arts-based community redevelopment. She conceived of the awards in 1991, which ran through 2001, as an avenue to support working artists and their creative processes from concept to completion. In 2012, the Foundations resurrected the program and renamed it the Carol R. Brown Creative Achievement Awards in her honor. These awards are among a select few in the region that provide direct philanthropic support to individuals. Learn about the awards, including a list of previous winners.
