The Foundation's Board of Directors name Jennie Zioncheck as organizational lead as it completes search for next president and CEO

PITTSBURGH, PA, MARCH 24, 2026 — The Pittsburgh Foundation’s board of directors today announced Jennie Zioncheck as acting chief executive officer (CEO) effective April 1. The appointment follows current president and CEO Lisa Schroeder's planned retirement on March 31. Zioncheck will lead the organization as the board completes its search for a permanent president and CEO.

During this transition period and under Zioncheck, the Foundation will maintain its operations as outlined by its mission and core values. All philanthropic services, grantmaking activities and community initiatives will continue without interruption, and the Foundation’s work with its donors, grantees and community partners will proceed guided by established strategic priorities, agreements and partnerships.

"As we continue our diligent search for the next president and CEO of The Pittsburgh Foundation, Jennie will work closely with us on the board and executive leadership to ensure continuity across the organization until our next leader is in place," said Jack McGinley, chair of the board of directors of The Pittsburgh Foundation.

Zioncheck has served The Pittsburgh Foundation for 14 years in roles of increasing seniority and responsibility, including director of development, chief of staff and senior vice president of partnerships. She has also served as a philanthropic consultant across diverse sectors.

In October, Schroeder announced her retirement, and the Foundation’s board and its executive recruiting partner, Isaacson Miller, launched a national search to find its next leader.
