Search for The Pittsburgh Foundation’s Next President & CEO
Following the announcement by Lisa Schroeder, President & CEO of The Pittsburgh Foundation, to retire this spring, the Foundation’s board and its executive search partner, Isaacson, Miller, are searching for the organization’s next leader.
The Foundation is seeking an inspirational, strategic and collaborative individual to serve as its next President & CEO. As one of the nation’s most respected and established community foundations with approximately $1.7 billion in assets and a $17 million annual budget, the Foundation is poised for its next leader to continue its significant momentum backed by loyal donors, a dedicated Board and a talented team of approximately 70 professionals. Additionally, the Foundation’s new headquarters at 912 Fort Duquesne Boulevard—a purpose-built space designed to foster collaboration, accessibility and civic dialogue—has already hosted over 100 gatherings in its first year, reinforcing its role as a trusted and visible civic partner.
The next President will have the opportunity to shape the Foundation’s strategic direction, building on $1.4 billion in lifetime grantmaking, $68 million awarded in 2025, and more than 7,400 annual grants. This leader will set priorities that deepen community impact, strengthen civic leadership and ensure the Foundation’s long-term relevance in a rapidly evolving philanthropic landscape.
This is more than a leadership role—it’s an opportunity to inspire collective action, foster meaningful change, and shape the future of philanthropy in the Pittsburgh region.
