Community Scholarship Funds

Over the last 30 years, the cost of higher education has doubled. The rising cost places college and trade school out of reach for many students. Those who do attend, especially from low-income backgrounds, acquire loans and assume years of burdensome debt, which have deep consequences to their economic wellbeing.  

To ease this financial burden and make college more accessible to students, we have launched two responsive community scholarship funds—one in Allegheny County and one in Westmoreland County—that will award at least $10,000 payable over four years in annual installments of $2,500 to each student. Renewable scholarships like this have the biggest impact on students because they can rely on the predictable nature of the aid for multiple years.

Donations are tax deductible. If you give more than $2,500, you’ll be invited to special events that celebrate our scholars.

Thanks to our partnership with Scholarship America, all community scholarship applicants for both Allegheny and Westmoreland counties have access to millions in additional scholarships.
