2023 grant amount: $13,330 over two years

This grant supports "All Style," a captivating travelogue show featuring award-winning Pittsburgh dancer Christian Brown. In the pilot episode, Christian immerses himself in various Pittsburgh dance communities to learn ballroom, hip hop and West African styles. This web series will be pitched to streaming services and is modeled after an "Anthony Bourdain style" travelogue show. Instead of visiting restaurants or historical sites, the show's focus is on exploring three different dance communities in a new city every episode. With each installment, viewers will learn 3 different dance styles alongside Christian, who will interview people involved in those communities.

"The show has the potential to inspire anyone who is passionate about dance," says Jordan C Taylor, producer, director, writer and editor of the show. "It showcases Black talent and communities and highlights Black faces in dance scenes that are not typically viewed as African American. It is a unique program that will appeal to dance enthusiasts and those interested in cultural exploration."

The show's host and point person is Christian Brown, a rising star in the dance world. The camera operators are Di-ay Battad and Andy Esper, who have both agreed to shoot.

The pilot episode will feature three different dance communities in Pittsburgh, including "Level up Studios" in Garfield with Mario Quinn, "Arthur Murry Pittsburgh" in Downtown with David Geidel, and "Sankofa Village for the Arts" in Homewood with Toddja Thornhill.
