2023 grant amount: $50,000 over two years

This funding will support Marvin Touré Studio in three distinct areas: Additional funding towards safe working conditions and fixed studio rate through 2025, additional support for Mattress Factory exhibition fabrication and program funding and large scale performance development with Pearl Arts Dance Company.

"The multifaceted nature of these projects coupled with the creative risks make the monetary support an invaluable factor in its success," says Touré. "The ability to continue to provide the public with high caliber work and critical discourse around Black art in particular is invaluable to expanding the field of possibilities for us in the diaspora. Not to prove it, but to BE it. Project success is project completion. Doing more with more rather than fighting to do more with less."
