$153,000 in grants to support local artists
PITTSBURGH, May 18, 2016 –The Pittsburgh Foundation and The Heinz Endowments have awarded $153,000 in grants to 12 artists and one nonprofit organization hosting an artist residency in the fifth funding cycle of Investing in Professional Artists, a program jointly sponsored by the two philanthropies.
Update on 2016 Day of Giving suspension
PITTSBURGH, May 13, 2016 – The 965 southwestern Pennsylvania nonprofits whose participation in last week’s national Day of Giving had to be suspended due to technical failures will be surveyed by The Pittsburgh Foundation to determine the best assistance options for recovery.

Sol Crespo named an Eben Demarest Fund awardee PITTSBURGH, May 5, 2016 – Sol Crespo, a New York-based actor, writer, director and producer, has been named this year’s Eben Demarest Fund grantee by The Pittsburgh Foundation. The Demarest Fund, which is administered by the Foundation, supports the work of independent creative artists and archeologists across the United States.
