Small and Mighty: Pittsburgh Dream Center

Pittsburgh Dream Center

The Pittsburgh Foundation awarded Small and Mighty grants of $12,500 in 2018  and $20,000 in 2019, 2020 and 2021 to Pittsburgh Dream Center.

Since 2011, the Pittsburgh Dream Center has provided free local services that provide education and help eliminate hunger, poverty, homelessness and human trafficking. Its programs include Adopt-a-Block; Homeless to Housing, a household furniture disbursement initiative; Backpack of Hope, which provides food assistance for local school children; and a mobile food bank, which has distributed nearly 40,000 pounds of food since its inception. The grant will support operating for Pittsburgh Dream Center, allowing it to continue its outreach and food programs.

The Small and Mighty grants program focuses on grant seeking for small nonprofits that are meeting basic needs in our region. Since 2016, the program has awarded funding to many nonprofit organizations with budgets of less than $600,000. A list of all Small and Mighty Grantees is on the Foundation’s website
