Semensky Scholarship Fund The Semensky Scholarship Fund was established at The Pittsburgh Foundation in honor of the Semensky Family to provide scholarships to students from Allegheny or Fayette counties who are attending Pennsylvania-based colleges and universities.

Award Type: Multi-Year (up to 4 years). Recipients must continue to meet the stated criteria.
Application Period Opens: 1/17/2024
Application Period Closes: 4/1/2024

Criteria

  • Attend a Pennsylvania based college or university.
  • Reside in Allegheny or Fayette counties.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.25.
  • Plan to attend a 2-or 4-year college or university based in Pennsylvania.
  • Preference will be given to a first-generation student.

How to Apply

  • Complete the essay section of the application.
  • Submit your FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS). If you have not already received your FSS, you can do so by applying for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Submit one letter of reference from someone unrelated to you.
  • Submit your unofficial transcripts.
