Last month, the American Community Survey by the Census Bureau released its annual report on poverty. Data from the survey shows that poverty in the city of Pittsburgh is, on average, much higher than the country, with even greater rates of poverty for Black, Indigenous, People of color (BIPOC) and Hispanic peoples.
The Pittsburgh Foundation was honored with the Award of Excellence at the ACTION-Housing annual luncheon Sept. 9 at the William Penn Hotel. It was the first time the luncheon was held in person since the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020.
