Emergency Action Fund totals $9 million for COVID relief
The Pittsburgh Foundation’s Emergency Action Fund has now raised a total of $9 million for COVID-19 relief, with most of it already in use by 313 nonprofits navigating the economic and health crises of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Call for entries opens for $50,000 Bennett Prize for women figurative realist painters
PITTSBURGH, April 16, 2020 – Talented women painters looking to take their figurative realist work to the next level are invited to apply for the $50,000 Bennett Prize, the largest offered solely to women painters. Foundation’s Small and Mighty grants reach $1.25 million
PITTSBURGH, Dec.18, 2019 – The Small and Mighty grants program, a special initiative of The Pittsburgh Foundation’s 100 Percent Pittsburgh organizing principle, has awarded grants totaling $371,000 to 23 small, community-based nonprofits. This fourth round of grants brings the total awarded through the Small and Mighty program since its inception in 2016 to $1.25 million.
Social Justice Fund grants boost advocacy for affordable housing, voter registration
Pittsburgh, PA, Dec. 17, 2019 – Nonprofits working to secure more affordable housing in the Pittsburgh region and to increase voter turnout are among seven receiving operating grants from The Pittsburgh Foundation’s Social Justice Fund. Established in 2018, the fund benefits social justice activities and advocates in the region. Its purpose is to increase the influence of community members who challenge systems that perpetuate racial and economic inequity.
