The United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania and The Pittsburgh Foundation encourages donors to support United Way International’s response to the humanitarian crisis that is now facing the people of Ukraine.  

As emergency response efforts build, The Pittsburgh Foundation joins with other foundations as it has in past natural disasters to offer assistance and direct donors to giving opportunities.

As a philanthropic first responder after last year’s mass shooting at Tree of Life Synagogue, The Pittsburgh Foundation gained expertise it never wanted. Now, as the one-year anniversary is marked, the Foundation’s new leader commits to long-range work countering white supremacist, fear-of-the-Other ideology that has led to carnage across the country.

Category 5 Hurricane Dorian was one of the most powerful hurricanes ever to make landfall in the Bahamas.

In response to the August 2019 mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton, the El Paso Community Foundation and The Dayton Foundation, are responding to meet community needs.

Funds raised will be prioritized to address those directly injured and impacted by the shooting in San Diego on Apr. 27, 2019.

When hurricanes struck Houston and Puerto Rico last year, Pittsburgh donors were philanthropic first responders.

Under the #LoveIsStronger banner, The Pittsburgh Foundation raised funds through a crowdfunding campaign to support organizations assisting victims of the mass shootings at Tree of Life Synagogue.

Save the Children is providing child-focused emergency supplies and working with national and state partners to assess children’s immediate needs.
